Material Declaration
RoHS and Halogen
RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC has been in force since February 2003. It also requires heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium and flame retardants such as polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) to be substituted by safer alternatives.
Restriction on Halogen usage to permitted level as outline by industry standards like IPC-4101B, JCPA-ES-1999 and IEC61249-2-41 come into force since 2007 which control the usage of Chlorine & Bromine.
Recognizing these requirements, Electroloy have conducted third party test by independent test laboratory for RoHS and Halogen for Electroloy’s major products. We provide the test results of the analysis on RoHS and Halogen for your reference. If you require a declaration that does not appear in the table below, please contact our local sales office. REACH
Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances.
REACH is a new European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006). It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances. The new law entered into force on 1 June 2007.
The REACH Regulation gives greater responsibility to industry to manage the risks from chemicals and to provide safety information on the substances. Manufacturers and importers will be required to gather information on the properties of their chemical substances, which will allow their safe handling, and to register the information in a central database run by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki. The Agency will act as the central point in the REACH system: it will manage the databases necessary to operate the system, co-ordinate the in-depth evaluation of suspicious chemicals and run a public database in which consumers and professionals can find hazard information.
The Regulation also calls for the progressive substitution of the most dangerous chemicals when suitable alternatives have been identified. REACH provisions will be phased-in over 11 years.
Electroloy Technical as well as Research and Development group are working hard on identifying chemicals in our products that may have a impact on this new regulation. Our goal is to substitute high risk chemicals in our products to minimize health and environmental risk during their use.
